He Tipu Supplies Plants for the Te Mana o Tauhara Community Planting Days

Community Planting Days at Tauhara Maunga that took place 18th and 19th July 2025.

Over 4,750 native trees were sold by He Tipu to support the Te Mana o Tauhara project, a kaupapa (initiative) celebrating both the mauri (life force) of Tauhara Maunga and the shared vision for its people.

Tauhara Ngahau – A Living Legacy

Tauhara Maunga and the surrounding whenua (land) are of deep cultural and spiritual importance. For ngā uri o Tauhara (the descendants of Tauhara), this sacred place connects us back to Ngātoroirangi, ancestor of Ngāti Tūwharetoa.

Tauhara Ngahau symbolises the joy of reconnection, the celebration of whakapapa, and the shared commitment to nurture the maunga for generations to come.

He Tipu – Growing Futures

He Tipu exists to grow more than just trees - it’s about nurturing people, whenua and future generations. By providing 4,750 native trees for the planting days, He Tipu is supporting the restoration of Tauhara’s natural environment while honouring the values of kaitiakitanga and manaakitanga.

This partnership demonstrates a shared vision:

  • Whakapakari whenua – strengthening the land through restoration.

  • Whakapakari whānau – bringing families, hapū and iwi together in action.

  • Whakapakari wairua – uplifting the spirit of the community and reconnecting to the mauri of Tauhara.

Planting for Generations

These community planting days are not just about today. Each rākau planted is a gift to the future, a reminder that the wellbeing of our environment and our people are woven together. As the trees grow, so too does the legacy of Tauhara—standing tall for our tamariki and mokopuna.

A Shared Vision

The collaboration between He Tipu and Te Mana o Tauhara reflects the power of kotahitanga. It is about honouring the past, celebrating the present, and investing in a thriving, sustainable future for Tauhara and its people.

Kim Manunui

Hi, I’m Kim and I work with a great team to help individuals, as well as small and not so small businesses get their message, product and services to the world using digital media and creating wonderful websites that don’t cost the earth.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home. My family’s heritage is here, and it’s from here that Korio traverses the planet.

The digital world is never static and neither are we.

And I say ‘we’ because I work with an awesome group of talented people who I gather together as required to complete a project.  Whatever your business, not-for-profit or individual needs are we gather the best team to get the job done.

Collaboratively we are creative, share sustainable values and work hard for great outcomes because that’s the buzz of satisfaction that drives us.

If you have an audience and market to reach, we can make that happen. Creative design, words that work and smart behind the scenes stuff that cuts through the online noise. We’ll design your website and then build it. We’ll manage the content as well as all your hosting needs. We can handle your online advertising so you get noticed,
and we’ll manage your social media presence so you get the clicks, likes and engagement to grow your business. All within the budget you set, because none of this needs to cost the earth.  And the job doesn’t stop when your website goes live. We are your virtual business partner.
